FlySafe is a New York based nonprofit foundation, founded by a group of dreamers, travelers, and entrepreneurs who share a love of exploring the world.
Along the way, we noticed a gap: how common harassment and assault are for women and minors while traveling, and how little the law does to protect the people it happens to. So we decided to do something about it.
If you love to travel, believe in progress, and value human dignity, you're one of us.
Our founder, Neel, is a fashion designer, material science enthusiast, and lifelong creative. She's the founder of Mela and Nile Hudson, with a career built on constant travel, which is exactly why this cause hits close to home.
Beyond her work, Neel is deeply committed to causes close to her heart. She has been involved with orphanages for over nine years, is an outspoken advocate for women's rights and against the oppression of girls in developing countries, and supports ocean conservation initiatives.
"I founded FlySafe with the hope that more women, minors, and parents know the proper course of action if they're ever put in this situation, and what their legal rights actually are."
In March 2025, news and press broke part of the story involving a female CEO's legal action against American Airlines following an incident on a flight to Milan, with little context, leaving too much room for imagination. Today, we want to set the record straight.
American Airlines has been asked numerous times to include a disclaimer on their materials outlining passengers' rights. They refused. Our volunteers will be distributing this information directly at airports instead.
